Sacred Heart School Council
 

In 2000 the Education Act determined that School Councils would serve as advisory boards, whose purpose would be to “ improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.”
School Council is elected yearly. Parents are invited to participate in the Executive, by process of nomination and election. This process takes place in September of each year. Council includes representation from teaching staff, non teaching staff, principal, parents, the Parish Priest and students.
School Council meets monthly. Council provides support to teachers, students and parents through consultation and program funding, such as the Nutrition program and playground equipment fund raising activities. We are kept abreast of school activities and school board developments and decisions. Council strives to support Catholic Education within the school and community.

Parents making a difference by involving themselves in the education of their children. Parents in partnership with teachers, students, principals, school boards and the community. Parents part of the team working to ensure a high quality of education for your child. Parents having input and being heard.
