December 2015

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Advent is upon us, and Christmas is right around the corner! Sacred Heart School is a hive of activity, with hallways full of decorations and the sounds of students practicing  songs for the concerts.  As believers, the Advent and Christmas season is such a blessing for us. We worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May this time together be safe, joyous and reflective as you prepare for Christmas and all the festivities with your family and friends.

May God truly bless you and your family with love, grace and mercy. We look forward to what 2016 will bring our school community! Thank-you for your continued support, care and involvement in Sacred Heart School. We couldn't do it without you!

From myself and all of us at Sacred Heart: May you and your families have a peaceful, happy and holy Christmas and God’s blessing in 2016.

Yours in Christ,

Brody Marsonet

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As a new year begins, the month of January will be a busy one at Sacred Heart! Each class will explore new areas of study where thought-provoking activities and explorations will enrich the minds of all students.  I encourage you all to seize the opportunity to celebrate personal accomplishments and goals achieved in 2015 and set new personal, academic and spiritual goals for 2016.  The new year is a wonderful time for us all to discuss our Catholic values and ways of making a difference in other peoples’ lives.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come."
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

Wishing in you and your family a very blessed New Year!

Yours in Christ,

February 2016

feb newsletter pope francis

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Sacred Heart School community has begun the New Year with a flurry of activity!  Students are busy with learning activities indoors and out.  The cold weather hasn’t dampened spirits or enthusiasm for skating, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing at the school and nearby natural spaces.  Students return to the warmth of the classrooms to reheat fingers and toes, and to spark inquiry through exploration and collaborative learning.  Basketball season is also off to a great start, with teams being chosen and practices beginning.  Soon it will be time for them to head off to tournaments to represent SHS abroad.  We were also visited by the Kids Kaleidoscope dance group who worked with students to learn all about jazz dance in a fun-filled, rhythmic and energetic atmosphere. Students were introduced to the history of jazz dance through movement games, improvisation structures and learned sequences.  As the days start to stretch a little longer and the month comes closer to an end, the spirit of learning and faith continues to grow and flourish at SHS.

Yours in Christ,
