March 2016

March-newsletter-PopeFrancis

Our March may have started out on the frosty side outdoors, but as spring begins to take hold, we at Sacred Heart are looking forward to the renewal of the season and the new possibilities that Spring brings us.  Student activities continue indoors and out, with the focus remaining on academic exploration, collaborative learning and faith development.  Our First Communion and Confirmation candidates await the Blessed Sacraments and continue to work with their families and the Church to develop as followers of Jesus.  As the Lenten season continues, let us pause and reflect on a few questions:  How do you live out in your own life the Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving? What have you learned about yourself, your faith, and God through your own Lenten practices?

Yours in Christ,
Brody Marsonet

April 2016

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Easter to all the friends and families of Sacred Heart School! April is a time of renewal and new beginnings as followers of Christ. Here at the school, Spring means planning for upcoming events such as inter-school sporting tournaments, class trips and graduation ceremonies. With EQAO testing right around the corner, grade 3 and 6 classes are busy preparing to share all the learning they have done this year and I am sure that they will impress us with all that they know. A special congratulations to the students who received their first communion and to those who were confirmed this month. Further celebration is in order, as three of our teachers: Andrew Bridge, Emily Hamilton and Michael Lutz were all welcomed as full members of our Church. How blessed we are to share as a community with these students and teachers the sacraments of our faith.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Sunshine and warm weather greet us this May and a fresh Spring brings renewal and new energy to Sacred Heart School. Last month saw a big increase in the number of lessons and learning experiences that took place outdoors, and this month promises more of the same. Catholic Education Week is upon us and we look forward to the special events that we have lined up for students and community. Congratulations to the families and to the students who received First Communion, how blessed we are to share in the Sacraments as a Catholic community. Finally, thanks to the Badminton team for being such excellent sportsmen and women while representing our school in Kenora.

Yours in Christ,
Brody Marsonet
